It is here that I will be posting periodic comments as I venture into retirement and the RV lifestyle.

January 2019 is over half way in the books, during our stop at the RV dealership, we went ahead a started the paperwork, and by the end of the month we will be placing $10k to start the order of a brand new Newmar Canyon Star 3927 (Toyhauler). It will be ready anytime after April. Getting excited. Thus, going through the shop and getting items, that I will no longer need, ready to sell either online or at a spring Garage/Yard sale. Finished one customer ordered End Grain Cutting Board, working on another, plus turning a pen or two, just to keep up with my therapy. .

2019 is here, and I am officially retired. Shortly after we rung in 2019, Sharron & I drove to Oneida, NY to help her Cousin celebrate her 80th birthday. There was snow on the ground the next morning and stayed for 3 days. When we left, we left in rain, drove through snow and then into sunshine with temps from ranging from 30 to 52. I am busy in the shop working on projects. Tomorrow, we will drive to McGeoge's Rolling Hills, RV which is up just past Richmond. Will finally talk to a Newmar salesman, and even see a new 2018 Newmar Canyon Star 3927 (Toy Hauler). Will have questions answered and find out the process for obtaining one. Plus, we will be renting an older model of the Newmar Canyon Star Toy Hauler. We are both excited about this test drive, along with a little relaxation and also, to see how our puppies will take to the RV life. It is an overall test for all. Back to the shop...

Tis the Saturday before Christmas, all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even the attic roof rats. Been busy in the shop this past week, milling, measuring, and cutting lumber for another cutting board. Even cut a blank or two and made some shavings while turning a few pens. Most of important Lesson Learned, (wink, wink) is that I need to take my time, and relearn my tools and clean the shop, cause working other than pens, has given me a few owies to tend too. Sharron??s cousin comes to town on Sunday, for the week. Then we will travel to her place in Oneida, NY for her eightieth birthday the following week. Time to get the fireplaced stoke, and breakout the eggnog. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

I have started my Christmas leave, returning to work one last day, the 31st of December 2018. I will out brief with the Commanding Officer (CO), send out my farewell email, turn in my badges and check-out sheet and walk out the door into my last retirement.
