2019 is here, and I am officially retired. Shortly after we rung in 2019, Sharron & I drove to Oneida, NY to help her Cousin celebrate her 80th birthday. There was snow on the ground the next morning and stayed for 3 days. When we left, we left in rain, drove through snow and then into sunshine with temps from ranging from 30 to 52. Tis the Saturday before Christmas, all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even the attic roof rats. Been busy in the shop this past week, milling, measuring, and cutting lumber for another cutting board. Even cut a blank or two and made some shavings while turning a few pens. Most of important Lesson Learned, (wink, wink) is that I need to take my time, and relearn my tools and clean the shop, cause working other than pens, has given me a few owies to tend too. I have started my Christmas leave, returning to work one last day, the 31st of December 2018. I will out brief with the Commanding Officer (CO), send out my farewell email, turn in my badges and check-out sheet and walk out the door into my last retirement.
